The basic idea of a community as a place where local children and young people can meaningfully use their free time, originated in the minds of the representatives of the DAN Slovakia joint-stock company, which is our founder and main supporter. Nevitel and Madnet companies and the Business Academy in Veľký Meder, The Béla Bartók Primary School with Hungarian with Hungarian as the language of instruction and a non-investment fund that operates at The Ján Amos Komenský Primary School with Slovak as the language of instruction saw an opportunity in this idea.
Having this idea in mind together with mutual strength and cooperation, they founded our organization, The Youth Club in Veľký Meder, which in July 2004 opened its doors to the youth of Veľký Meder as well as to the youth from the surrounding areas.
Our main goal and mission at once are to provide such a social environment for the youth of Veľký Meder and youth and children from the surrounding areas, where they will use their free time meaningfully and usefully.
Our other more important goals include:
- Organization of various camps
- Help the youth and children develop their skills and knowledge – hobby groups
- Organizing and presenting lectures and cultural events
- Organizing activities to support the preservation of traditions
- Organizing trips, excursions, excursions abroad, attendances to theatres and cinemas
- Environmental protection
